Listed below are specific step-by-step instructions for surround sound and DVD operations of the front Sony TV installed in the 2003 Executive Series during a mid-year production line change. Please note that the following information pertains only to the front Sony TV found in mid-year production line changes of the 2003 Executive model, and is not a blanket direction for all RV entertainment systems presently installed in all makes and models. Become familiar with the AVS-200 Switching Box located in the overhead panel of the RV cockpit. Specific designation of the front television set (TV1) or bedroom television set (TV2) can be entered using the Switching Box. Use the Switching Box to make individual choices for television location, accessory component such as DVD or VCR, and satellite or cable designations. When selecting to view television programming using the on-board antenna, confirm that the antenna is retracted and securely stowed prior to driving the RV.

Locate the remotes specifically assigned to operate the television and the DVD. If identifying markings on the remote appear to be confusing, match the remote to the applicable electronic by first confirming that the remote contains working batteries, and then by pointing the remote at the entertainment system (with all components in the off position) and pressing the power button located on the remote to determine which component then engages.

The television remote can be identified by the 'Sony TV' label on the front side of the remote. The DVD remote is identified by markings on the remote that state RM-SS450. Confirm that the batteries in the remotes are in working order when the remote does not respond to commands to operate the television or DVD systems.

To play the television audio through the surround sound speakers:

1. Turn on the television, and select the program you wish to view.
2. Using the television remote, press MENU.
3. Right arrow to select AUDIO.
4. Arrow down to OPTIONS.
5. Right arrow to Speaker. Enter OFF.
6. Right arrow to Audio Out. Enter FIXED.
7. Press MENU.
8. Turn off the DVD player.
9. Set the orange slider switch on the side of the DVD remote to DVD/TV.
10. Press PLAY/SELECT.
11. Audio should now be directed through the surround sound speakers.

There are two ways to control volume through the surround sound system:

DVD Remote Control

1. Locate the orange slider on the right side of the remote and move the slider from DVD/TV to COMMAND MODE.

Television Remote Control

1. Press MENU on the television remote.
2. Using the right arrow, select AUDIO.
3. Press the down arrow until reaching OPTIONS.
4. Use the right arrow to set Audio Out to VARIABLE.
5. Set Speaker to ON.

To use the television set sound system:

1. Using the TV remote, press MENU.
2. Right arrow to select AUDIO.
3. Arrow down to OPTIONS.
4. Right arrow to Audio Out. Enter VARIABLE.
5. Right arrow to Speaker. Enter ON.
6. Press MENU.
7. Turn off DVD Player.

To play a DVD while using the surround sound system:

1. Turn on the television.
2. Press MENU on the television remote.
3. Right arrow to select AUDIO.
4. Arrow down to OPTIONS. Right arrow to Set Speakers. Enter OFF. Right arrow to Audio Out. Enter FIXED.
   
5. Press MENU.
6. Locate the orange slider switch on the side of the DVD remote (RM SS450), and slide the switch to DVD/TV.
7. Use the DVD remote, or the television remote, and press TV/VIDEO until the upper left corner of the screen says VIDEO1.
8. Turn on the AVS-200 Switching Box, and press the button for TV1 until the green light illuminates above the choice for DVD.
9. Press the Power button on the end of the DVD player.
10. Use the DVD remote and press OPEN/CLOSE.
11. When PLAY is hi-lighted on the screen, use the DVD remote to press PLAY to start the movie.
    
12. To control volume using the DVD, move the orange slider switch on the right side of the DVD remote from DVD/TV to COMMAND MODE.
13. When the program has ended, press OPEN/CLOSE on the DVD player. Remove the disc, and again press OPEN/CLOSE to close the tray.
14. Turn off the DVD player and the AS-200 switching box.
