Spring is here once again in beautiful Oregon. The trees and flowers are in bloom. And there are a lot of baby lambs running around too. It is so incredibly beautiful, despite the usual uncertainty of the Oregon weather. One minute there’s sunshine, then rain—we have even had some snow and hail.
When I wrote my last article for Lifestyles, I had just arrived in Lancaster for the Monaco International Pre-Rally. The weather was glorious. The exact opposite of how it had been two years earlier. However, I now must retract that statement. No sooner had I sent my article to our publications department than the “real” Lancaster weather came roaring in. We had lots of cold rain and lots of cold wind. We had a dozen space heaters outside, but they didn’t help fight the wind. We still had a good time but we were all bundled up.
Jack and Terri Brewster were the Rally Masters and they really put on a first class rally. Everything ran so smoothly. Jack had everything ready to go about six months in advance, so that made it all really easy for the rest of us. The Brewsters thought of every little detail. From the welcome gifts, to the seminars, the variety of craft classes, the golf tournament and the Ladies Red Hat Luncheon, there was something for everyone. I hope the Brewsters and I get to work together again.
But as we all know, no one can do it alone. The Brewsters surrounded themselves with wonderful volunteers. All of your efforts were greatly appreciated. As usual the Parking Committee, run by Bob and Dorothy Larson, did an exceptional job getting everyone squared away.
We are already looking forward to summer and the Monaco International Pre-Rally in Willmar, Minnesota. I don’t think we have been to Minnesota for a rally so this is going to give many of us a wonderful opportunity to see a new part of our beautiful country. Dan and Cari Mitchell are working on many wonderful activities for this rally and I know they want to extend their personal invitation to all of you to join them.
Rebecca Farset and I are also working on the West Coast and East Coast Masquerade Balls. As we have done for the last couple of years, we are again bringing together all coach brands of the Monaco RV family (Beaver, Holiday Rambler, Monaco and Safari). Our doors are always open to your friends as well, regardless of their brand. So if you have friends who own another brand of coach, and you would like to show them just what a Monaco rally is all about, please invite them to join you either in Salem, Oregon in September or Greensboro, North Carolina in October. We would love to meet them too.
Travel safely this spring and hopefully I will get to see you in the Land of Lakes in Willmar, Minnesota this summer.
