| We pride ourselves on listening to our customers’ feedback,” said Monaco Brand Manager Ryan Lee. “We value [your opinions] and we strive to make sure our products match your wants and needs.”
Monaco Coach Corporation has the hutzpah to back up words with actions. The Dynasty, a coach known for its topnotch amenities along with its value-conscious price has long-since won the heart of many an RV enthusiast and now has even more to offer.
Two new floorplans introduced in the 2008 model year reaffirm Monaco’s commitment to serve Dynasty’s current and soon-to-be admirers, by bringing you even more of exactly what you want: The 45-foot Yorkshire IV and the 36-foot Bedford IV. What’s special about them? Oh, you’ll see.
For those of you who have been waiting for the nearly flawless Dynasty to reach perfect RV nirvana; for those buyers who have been wanting a Dynasty with greater length and more power: Your day has come. The new 45-foot Yorkshire is the first Dynasty model ever to be powered by a 500 horsepower engine coupled with an Allison 4000 six-speed transmission. That’s right, 500 horses.

“We’ve been hearing Dynasty customers asking for a longer model with a bigger engine,” Lee said. “Well, you asked for it, and here you go.” This is a powerplant that can take you where you need to go without breaking a sweat.
“The Yorkshire is for Dynasty buyers who pull a trailer or travel through the mountains frequently, buyers who need more power, but want to stay within the Dynasty family. It incorporates luxury with horsepower. It has all the value of the Dynasty with a bigger engine.” And as if that’s not enough, there’s more.
“Not only does it have the value and the horsepower, it has the amenities,” Lee said. “The Yorkshire is that desirable commodity, the bath and a half floorplan.”
For those of you who haven’t seen this wonder, it looks like this: One full bathroom that looks like a stateroom itself, all for your very own personal use, and a half-bath accessed from the rear of the kitchen area for the use of any guests (or in case the other one is occupied).
“One of the great things about the bath and a half is that it accommodates guests while allowing you to keep your stuff private. If you’re at an event, guests can come through the coach and use the fore lavatory without entering your private space.” Not only does this floorplan allow you to keep your private collection of handcrafted Mickey Mouse figurines constructed from popsicle sticks carefully stowed away in your stateroom, safe from curious fingers, it gives you a couple more perks. “[This floorplan] also allows for a much larger shower and a door that separates the area,” Lee said.
And for some time now, according to Lee, more and more customers have been asking for a coach that’s a little more compact, but at the same time they don’t want to give up the amenities of their Dynasty. “As some folks’ needs change, maybe they aren’t going to some of the places they used to, maybe they’re spending more time in state parks or places with length restrictions like that,” Lee said. “They want something that’s shorter, more maneuverable. But they want the same unique features as their 42-foot Dynasty.”
Well, for all of you out there who resemble those comments, the 36-foot Bedford IV is for you. Imagine, all the amenities you love in your Dynasty, but in a trimmer package. “With the 36-foot Bedford, customers don’t have to give up anything except length,” Lee said.

“Dynasty customers are loyal. We want to give customers what they want. So we offer a lot of variety, 36 to 45 footers and everything in between.” When Lee says Monaco offers “a lot of variety,” he isn’t kidding; there are nine floorplans up for grabs, six of which are brand spanking new.
Besides revolutionary new floorplans, Dynasty has its legendary staying power and an assortment of additional features, options that have made the transition to standard features like the full pass-through slideout storage bay, 3M film front mask, a 20-inch LCD TV for the bedroom and the overhead living area TV upgraded from a 26-inch flatscreen to a 32-inch LCD.
Beautiful new luxury full-body paint in a masterful five- color fade scheme adorns the exterior and to protect that fresh complexion from the ravages of the road, the 3M Film front mask.
The ’08 Dynasty’s interior matches its elegant exterior. High-gloss Corian® covers countertops throughout the coach and luxury carpet cushions your steps. There’s yet another chance to make choices since the Dynasty offers a selection of seven different decor packages. Three additions to this year’s offerings include the breezy neutral tones of Bahama Wind, the textured warmth of Island Pearl and a new Ralph Lauren package, the restrained and tasteful Windermere.
The cockpit is stuffed with comfortable and convenient amenities like the six-way power captain’s chairs, a lighted VIP Smartwheel, an in-dash AM/FM stereo with a CD player and an auxiliary audio input which allows you to plug in your iPod® or MP3 player.
Other impressive features include the Onan® Quiet Diesel generator for the dry camping fans out there. The Eclipse® automatic patio awning and increased gray tank capacity to 70 gallons, over 20 gallons of increased capacity, and the 2,000 watt pure sine wave inverter with auto gen start and auto temp start. Plus a fresh water tank with auto shut-off and auto fill to help simplify life on the road, and the Aladdin Jr. coach system with house battery and solar readouts to provide you with up-to-the-minute stats on the condition and output of many of the systems in your coach from oil pressure to current compass heading.
The living area is finished with the artistry of dovetail drawers, solid wood cabinetry available in oak or any of five different luxurious optional woods and oil rubbed bronze finished hardware. In the kitchen, a 12-cubic-foot fridge with raised panel doors comes standard.
If you’re a multi-media entertainment junkie, a couple items of note: A massive 46-inch LCD TV dominates the back of the living area in the Squire IV. You can even opt to enhance this prodigious entertainment system with a mahogany stained TV cabinet. This is an entertainment system that says “in-home theater” and knows what it’s talking about.
But if it’s one of the other floor plans that’s caught your eye, you can still have your large screen and watch it too, simply by choosing the optional overhead 37-inch LCD TV available with every other floorplan.

And of course there is no shortage of other options. The cook who likes to entertain guests for dinner will gape in astonishment at the capacious depths of the 17-cubic-feet of cold storage available with the four door paneled refrigerator. Or why stop there? Why not go for the full residential refrigerator for maximum cooking convenience? And if you want to complement your fine wooden cabinetry with the warm look of wood floors you can opt for plank flooring in the galley and bathroom.
Or if you’re looking to create a cool haven this summer, opting for power solar sunscreens with blackout shades and electric cockpit sunshades can help you make a shady nest while a bedroom ceiling fan can keep cool air circulating. Also, if you would like to enhance the sheltered aura of your summer refuge you can select the full tile living room floor to cool those hot tootsies after a stroll on the warm sands of a beach or some time spent soaking up the sunshine. (And for that matter, when the sand follows you indoors clean up is much simpler with the optional central vacuum.)
Monaco has founded its reputation and striven to base its success on its proactive listening skills. Taking in the opinions and feedback both positive and constructive of customers and using them to improve products in order to better meet and excel at meeting the needs of customers. In Lee’s words, “Your feedback and your opinions make us a greater company.”
It’s a good feeling to know somebody out there is listening to you. After looking over the 2008 Dynasty, there isn’t any doubt. |
