| One upgrade that has cemented the 2008 Executive as a legend in its own time is its impressive 525-hp Cummins ISX engine. Greater power offers Executive owners the chance to get wherever they want to go and never get left behind.
“Customers who want a bigger engine and the power that goes with it will enjoy the Executive,” said Monaco Brand Manager, Ryan Lee. Not only does the 2008 Executive offer a big engine, this coach also comes with amenities that aren’t available in many models.
“When it comes to the standard features that are important to everyone, the Executive has them,” Monaco National Sales Manager, Mark Kealoha said. The standard features Kealoha is talking about consist of items like high-gloss Corian® countertops, increased gray water tank capacity from 56 to 70 gallons, the central vacuum system for easy cleanup and the now standard in-motion satellite system with two HD receivers. And for those who like to sip their lemonade in the shade, Executive offers a standard roof-mounted Girard patio awning. You can also opt to create your own wrap-around shade by covering your whole coach with Girard awnings. (Well, maybe not the whole coach but how about a healthy portion of your roofline?)
“The Executive has unique floorplans, a big transmission and that big engine,” Kealoha said. “We continue to cater to our long-time Executive owners,” Kealoha said. “We made some large-scale modifications on the ’07 Executive. So we continued to modify a bit by making some ergonomic modifications for ’08 without sacrificing price. We’ve held the price as close [to what it was] as we can.”
This coach is a beauty inside and out there’s no doubt about it. “The Executive has dialed and styled graphics,” Lee said. The exterior is swathed in dramatic full body paint in new five-color fades and blends that are already drawing admiring glances.
The full pass-through storage bay is a thing of expansive beauty and so to the RVer, it is a joy forever. Not only does the bay have enough space for a pleasing variety of assorted baggage, it’s large enough for a short person to lie down in with room to stretch out. Plus, she wouldn’t even have to crawl out under her own power since this prodigiously proportioned storage facility now comes equipped with a slide-out tray. This feature changed from option to standard with this model year.
Inside the coach, luxury Ultraleather® pilot and co-pilot chairs offer room to sit back and relax while two couches cradle your guests in comfort. The floor of the living area shines with the cool luster of tile. The kitchen allows space for the cook as well as giving him or her the opportunity to interact with any guests in the room. The four-door refrigerator is generous, what some might call ‘king-size.’ Seventeen cubic feet of cold storage seem to warrant some special recognition.
The ’08 floorplans promote the spacious feeling of the coach. “The modifications on these newly designed floorplans are driven by customer feedback from rallies, conferences and conversations,” Lee said. One 42-footer and three 45-foot selections leave the prospective buyer with no doubt that creature comforts are a priority with the Executive.
“The Oxford IV has opposing slideouts, each 31 inches by 24 inches deep,” said Lee. “That opens up one spacious living area. It’s a great floorplan.”

Kealoha added, “The Oxford IV is a curbside dinette configuration.” The addition of this cozy dining nook demon
strates once again Monaco’s commitment to implementing customer feedback. “A lot of people have asked for [this configuration],” Kealoha said. “They liked the idea of being able to sit down on the patio side of their motorhome for more privacy when eating or relaxing.”
All this streamlining has made the ’08 Executive an even hotter commodity, demonstrated by the fact that there was only one model available on the lot to walk through. These coaches don’t seem to stick around long.
The Whitney IV is a personal favorite among floorplans, and as luck would have it the only ’08 Executive available for a walk-through was a Whitney IV. This coach has a great theater system with sound quality that’s both sharp and crisp. Plus, it offers up a comfortable homey feeling with an

awe-inspiring 37-inch TV placed at the rear of the living room. Also for those who love multi-media entertainment, an In-Motion digital satellite system with two HD receivers is now a standard feature.

The Whitney IV boasts another personal favorite amongst its options, a fireplace. A friend pointed out that a fireplace might not be the most practical thing when you can just walk outside and start a campfire. But there’s something to be said for that feeling of comfort that comes with being able to settle into a soft couch with a warm blanket before an indoor fireplace, a mug of hot chocolate in hand on a chilly evening.
The bathroom in this model offers wooden pocket doors that can seal off the bedroom from the living area for a little more privacy. A separate water closet adds to the sense of space and privacy. Dual sinks, his and hers medicine cabinets, four drawers and two cabinets in the bathroom area offer substantial storage for towels and assorted beautification instruments.
In the bedroom the standard queen looked soft enough to take a pleasant nap on. A deep wardrobe plus a dresser supply a substantial amount of space for clothing, shoes and perhaps even a rotating tie rack or two. The bedroom TV has grown apace as well, going from 20 to 26 inches in size.
For those who think this all sounds good but would like something at least a little bit shorter, Monaco has taken your needs into consideration as well. “The Victoria IV is the shortest floorplan at 42 feet,” Kealoha said. This shorter floorplan offers a little bit more maneuverability without sacrificing the features that make the Executive such a desirable coach.
There’s also a special option in case you want to take something extra with you; something that may need more space than what’s available even in that abundant storage bay: a 15,000-pound hitch with a stationary or non-liftable tag for some extra hauling oomph. Yet another feature that’s getting a lot of double takes.
“[The Executive] gives you luxury wherever you go, along with the power to get you wherever you want to go.” Lee

said. “This coach also gives you the freedom to take your home with you whether that’s a campground or a golf course. And with four slideouts it’s a very large home,” he added.
Along with the upgrades and the satisfaction of owning an elegant and spacious luxury vehicle comes the knowledge that you have legions of employees ready to help you care for and maintain it. 24/7 tech service operators stand ready to help you whenever you encounter any unexpected adventures on the road. And if the 350 certified service centers scattered across the U.S. aren’t enough, three factory-owned service centers located in Oregon, Indiana and Florida offer another source for expert advice. In addition to that, a warranty program that offers bumper-to-bumper coverage and towing service tenders you a little peace of mind. Monaco Coach Corporation may not do the driving for you but this is the kind of customer service you can count on to get you wherever you need to go.
